Young people clearly don't know what a shock-jock is. Kirk was nothing new. His opinions were nothing we haven't heard from talk-back radio hosts for 50 years. They all said outrageous things for attention and money, radicalising their audience with no care for the consequences. Platforming rage baiting radio hosts has been Rupert Murdoch's main source of income for decades. Shock jocks have always been sad, egotistical, right-wing losers. Their listeners are even sadder.

Political violence is unacceptable when wielded by the poor, the disenfranchised, the oppressed, the occupied, the colonised and the enslaved. Political violence is unacceptable when the violence comes as response to the politics. Political violence is unacceptable when it arises out of the refusal to accept the domination of empire and the ruling class. Political violence is unacceptable when it strives to liberate. But the political violence wielded by the state and its lawmakers, by colonialism, by “progress”, by carcerality, by capitalism, by the weapons manufacturing industry, by the tech oligarchs, by the media, by Israel, by imperialism and its thirst for more power, more money, more privilege, more control - well, that’s not political violence at all. That’s democracy. And it’s the price of doing business if we want to protect our freedoms.

When the American empire finally collapses, historians won’t be stunned by the greed of the elite. They’ll be stunned by the loyalty of the poor. The working class didn’t just vote against their own interests. They worshipped the billionaires robbing them. They slashed their own benefits, gutted their own healthcare, and cheered while the rich wrote off private jets as tax deductions. Not because it helped them, but because they were told it would hurt someone else’s. And that, right there, is how you rig a democracy without ever breaking a single law.

I ask Jews to consider what this man Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing government is doing to the Jewish people all over the world. They are endangering not only the State of Israel, which I care deeply about and want to exist, but they are endangering the Jewish population all over the world. To watch what is happening, for the Jewish people to allow this to happen to children and civilians of all ages in Gaza, for whatever reason, is unconscionable and unthinkable. And I ask you, Jews, everywhere, all over the world, to spend some time alone and think, is this acceptable and sustainable? How could it be done to you and your ancestors, and you turn around and you do it to someone else?
