A single premise has always held constant about Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, generations of Israeli leadership and its Zionist society - cowardice, duplicity and manufactured victimhood have become the defining characteristics of a political and military establishment addicted to violence, manipulation and perpetual war. Everything about Israel reflects a state consumed by paranoia, evil, vengeance and an almost obsessive pursuit of dominance at any cost. Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and now Iran underscore a pattern that has remained disturbingly consistent for decades: overwhelming force inflicted on civilians, the weaponisation of Western media narratives, and the endless invocation of existential fear to justify actions much of the world now views as morally bankrupt and strategically catastrophic.
The appalling Josh Frydenberg has come out blaming Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for the atrocity in Bondi. Always a Liberal. In this he is just echoing the bullshit spouted by…
Political violence is unacceptable when wielded by the poor, the disenfranchised, the oppressed, the occupied, the colonised and the enslaved. Political violence is unacceptable when the violence comes as response to the politics. Political violence is unacceptable when it arises out of the refusal to accept the domination of empire and the ruling class. Political violence is unacceptable when it strives to liberate. But the political violence wielded by the state and its lawmakers, by colonialism, by “progress”, by carcerality, by capitalism, by the weapons manufacturing industry, by the tech oligarchs, by the media, by Israel, by imperialism and its thirst for more power, more money, more privilege, more control - well, that’s not political violence at all. That’s democracy. And it’s the price of doing business if we want to protect our freedoms.
I ask Jews to consider what this man Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing government is doing to the Jewish people all over the world. They are endangering not only the State of Israel, which I care deeply about and want to exist, but they are endangering the Jewish population all over the world. To watch what is happening, for the Jewish people to allow this to happen to children and civilians of all ages in Gaza, for whatever reason, is unconscionable and unthinkable. And I ask you, Jews, everywhere, all over the world, to spend some time alone and think, is this acceptable and sustainable? How could it be done to you and your ancestors, and you turn around and you do it to someone else?
